I had the honor of marrying a beautiful couple that is five months pregnant. The wedding took place at the dunes in front of the Mandalay Bay Resort in Oxnard.
The first question the bride asked me "can I wear a wedding dress? Absolutely, I responded!".
Many expecting brides battle with an inside voice that tells them that traditionally speaking you cannot wear a wedding dress on your wedding day. This is so passe! Brides should be allowed to wear whatever they want. If you are not showing, well, no one has to know and you have the pick of the litter as what you can wear. However, if you are sporting a baby bump, there are some beautiful styles available to you. One of my favorite is the empire waist. You can order your dress and still have time to grow by the time your big day comes around.
Ultimately, my bride decided on a silky muted taupe color that flattered her baby bump and her skin color. She decided against the traditional white or off white wedding gown. Her face was glowing and she looked stunning after hair and make up. Congrats to the newlyweds!
